Meet Screech!

After all the names were tallied, the votes are in and our new Eagle mascot is now known as Screech! Following the week after the student opening of the Athletic Center, students in grades JK – 9 nominated their ideas for the Eagle’s new name. The variety was astounding – Sir Ed, Zinzendorf, Bolt, Rufus, Jim, and Soren to name a few of the sixty different names. The Class of 2009 Executive Council met and created a ballot of twelve names which they then presented to their classmates. A preliminary vote was held and the top three, Screech, Shmeagle, and Baldy were then presented to the rest of the student body. The students spoke and Screech was born! Screech invites students and faculty to come see him at home basketball games during half time. -Julie Giljames
